Artist's Comments

I'm sorry that the title is horribly uncreative.

Contrary to popular belief (what popular belief? about five people have seen it), this has nothing to do with alcohol. Honestly! It's a fancy glass of water, like they serve at really expensive restaurants. I really just liked the idea of putting a mermaid someplace unexpected, and I thought that a fishbowl would be a little bit too mean. She's not a pet! She's just.... exploring! I like to think that the owner of the water glass will show her around for a bit (like let her swim around the city fountain and the bathtub and maybe some fishponds) and then take her back to the ocean.

but wouldn't she explode because her system is not used to dealing with the low salt concentration in the fountain water?? :D

She's a freshwater mermaid.

Or it's a glass of saltwater; I can't quite decide. ;)
